John1122
About 45 minutes ago, I'm building towards double digit snowfall totals 1 inch or less at a time!
Stovepipe
The next round of returns is about to sweep through the central valley. This might be the flizzard climax for us. Edit: Light snow starting back up in west Knox at 30 degrees.

Carvers Gap
Just drove from Bristol, VA, to Kingsport. Was 1/4-1/2 mile visibility there. Interstate, main roads, and side roads are a mess. Thank goodness for four-wheel drive on the truck. Looks like JC was under a heavier "band." How much do you have, Nut? No winter wx advisory. Most snow since Thanksgiving. Just under 1". Very nice to look at....
John1122
The lack of even an SPS for the area outside the mountains was surprising to me. Road conditions are pretty bad in the Kentucky/VA border counties at the very minimum.
tnweathernut
Looks like about an inch. I though the setup for this was about the best we had seen so far. I was optimistic from about 72 hours out on this one and i am glad we scored a light snowfall before the cold leaves us........later next week. Long range not looking so good at this point. I was hoping we would have an opportunity coming out of the arctic regime, but that is looking less likely by the day. kvskelton
Still getting light snow in Church Hill, west of Kingsport. Was out earlier and the main roads (i.e. 11W) were getting covered outside of the right travel lane. Side roads are completely covered and slick. I live on a hill and with only a front wheel drive vehicle it was fairly tricky but I made it. That was over an hour ago. I'm in for the duration at this point. Nearing an inch of snow on the ground...
tnweathernut
Pretty stupid call IMO, roads will be much better by later today, unless they are concerned about slips and falls in their parking lots. Stovepipe
Dang, y'all are getting a pretty good one! I got to see dry snow blowing around on the roads and porch here for about 20 minutes. I should have taken a drive northeast.
1234snow
Snow just ended. Got an average of 1.25 making this the best clipper of the year and best snowfall of the season by .25. Season total is know 2.25. Congrats to everyone who saw snow!!!!!
Vol Man
Nice surprise today...we ended up with about 1.5" in Indian Springs...it was very powdery, and with the wind, I had a couple of "drifts" against a wall of about 5"! I'll take it!
John1122
It's 52 degrees, but the ground is so frozen that there's no snow melt in areas not directly in the sun.
zippity
DH and I walk around a lake that's about 2.5 miles around. We noticed today that for the first time in 14 years it had ice forming in several areas. We didn't have a phone to take pictures, but hopefully I can get some tomorrow. John1122
Got down to 32 around 8 pm, on the rise since then. Currently 43 and raining. The cold air is arriving much more slowly than initially forecast.

1234snow
Alright Nut!!!!!!! Just virga here but the returns looked really nice. I figured it had to been snowing with returns this bright. Also, John do you ever go to sleep at night? You have been all over it from yesterday evening until this morning. Nice work!
1234snow
BTW, temp is 13 here with a dewpoint of 1. I'm sure that much dry air will be tough to overcome. Maybe it is "too cold" to snow here at least initially.
