TheSnowman
Cory needs to go sledding naked while ripping off a tune on the squeezebox GFS slightly better. I will do this. WHEN....... I get 51" in 1 storm and beat the Great Blizzard of 1978. Then I will just for you guys.

Clinch Leatherwood
Ray knows his physical features of ern MA. Nice stuff. I bet this storm has a second max, dual bands. Another one will setup NW further NW than we would expect as the low drops out. This is a great storm. Someone may get 20" and others may get the shaft at 3 or 5". I would hate to be one of your pros tonight.
CoastalWx
. Thoughts for yby? 13"! All about where the bands set up. It could be 9" it could be 18". Part of me thinks the jackpot is just SE of me. 12 sounds good give or take.
CoastalWx
GFS looks brutal for coastal areas after 6z. Nice big burst of lift as H7 closes off. Temps in the single digits near BOS.
Randy4Confluence
Riding that call out.Interesting. I think for the Merrimac Valley region to max out on QPF, those areas you mentioned on the south shore would be in trouble with the marine influence. Good luck down there. That should be the best hit zone.

BostonWX
Yep right back to foxboro and mansfield. That should be the best hit zone. Yeah I could see that too. Still looks great for all 3 of us... I will probably be looking in from the outside for a period of time, but should still be in a jackpot zone. I'm thinking areas like Newton and Arlington are in a 8-12 inch, a 10-14 range in BOS, MQE, Quincy etc with that jackpot area 14-18. 10-14 for PYM area as well

jamesnichols1989
I think Cape and Islands up through Plymouth, Suffolk and Norfolk counties of MA do extremely well with this setup, OES enhancement and CCB features as well as potential comma head snows could really help out this area. Right now am thinking 10-15" with isolated 18-22" amounts possible for this region of SNE.
ORH_wxman
The GFS deepens the mid-level lows fast enough that an area of deformation lift forms out in western SNE and then slowly collapses SE...which is why most of the region does well on the GFS. I think the issue of the GFS being more generous is lot more than just the model broadbrushing at a lower resolution. The upper levels are simply more impressive on the GFS than the NAM. jamesnichols1989
Marine layer should be offset by colder air in the region.

BostonWX
Semantics. True, but if they jackpotted I wouldn't consider it a south shore jackpot. Either way, I'm sure they do well but not quite as well as the areas you outlined
