Light rain has moved in and dropped us down to 44.3°F. That CAD has seemed to have held it's grip longer than I expected despite occasional SE and ESE winds eroding at it from the south and west. While I can't say for everybody looking at the soundings its going to be very close aloft as that band moves through. Atleast my standpoint of north of 85 and durham. We dropped about 10 degrees to go below freezing around 3am, very quickly, and have been sinking 1-2 degrees per hour since then. At least here where I am, on the north side of a ridge, the winds are not bad - quite gusty earlier but now just slow and steady breeze, enough to keep the wind chimes stirred. downeastnc Posted January 6, 2014 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Temp dropped11 degrees in 20 mins when the front passed and has fallen another 2 in the last 20 mins so thats a decent swing.....still the forecasted low tonight is 13 so we need to drop another 40 degrees on top of the 13 we already have by morning.
