Well that was stupid :P

GSP actually says this cloud cover will keep us warmer over night and decrease freezing rain chances. I understand their reasoning but on the other hand, if there was any clearing this evening...it would be offset by the warming after it goes fully overcast that no doubt would occur given temps above the surface. In other words, I would tend to think if there were any breaks it wouldn't make any difference.

We'll see..though it's hardly a big deal one way or the other.

lol yes it was - next time i wait til i am a little more awake and have had some coffee before checking :)

unfortunately it appears that way - even if cold enough to frz precip there just wont be any/enough qpf that falls.  :( altho i do like this set up, hopefully if we can keep cold temps long enough over the next week we will see something at least.

side note: talked to my folks and they had no idea about the cold here thats on the way.  maybe this is why ffc put out those statements.  seems like people hear about the snowstorm and arctic outbreak around here and assume its confined to the north and north east.  and think this is the cold that is being talked about lol.  they will be in for a shock monday morning

We're supposed to hit 43 today but it's been hovering near 32 for the last couple of hours; it's overcast here with a low ceiling. I just noticed BMX has issued a Hard Freeze Warning for its entire coverage area, effective midnight Sunday through noon Tuesday (CST).

33.8°F Cloudy here

34°F Overcast is the most recent reading from Hartsfield Int'l per Wunderground.

That high of 44 is looking more and more less likely. At the rate were going, we might not get out of the 30s today.

I was just thinking the same thing - our forecast high is supposed to be 43, but it's nearly 2pm and we're only at 35.

Today's forecast definitely a bust - we were supposed to reach our high of 43 by 4:00pm, but at 4:03pm we're sitting at 36.

Was just looking at the CONUS graphical forecast for 1:00am Monday...amazing how the cold stops right at the Georgia border. Must be FFC's magical Shield of Warmth (although it didn't work too well today).
