Lookout
the dewpoints are really something. Atlanta has a dewpoint of -11F! Greenville airport also has a dewpoint of -11. Dewpoint here is -8. I've never seen dewpoints that low here. It's funny, I actually don't know if I have ever seen dewpoints below zero here but this year it's happened several times. It might have done so back in the 80s sometime but i don't remember it. At any rate, low was 10 this morning. currently 30. Lots of single digits across north ga last night. There were also some sub zero temps in the high elevations...which is the 2nd or 3rd time this year. Just the fact that temps were below zero in ga is pretty special. But To have it happen at least twice is incredible. Indeed, all these temps would be pretty big news most years but par for the course this year. Lookout
Holy dry air batman..gainesville now has a dewpoint of -15F! Greenville and hickory are down to -12. I see quite a few locations with dewpoints in the negative teens. I know it's not as exciting as a winter storm but dewpoints this low is just amazing. This winter, the cold and dry air has been truly impressive.

downeastnc
Looks like PGV will set a min max today at 27 the previous record was 28. The snow on the roof across the way held tough even with full sun and my grill on the back deck which gets no sun at all for most of the winter still has a nice layer of snow. Wow
Looking like my high is going to be around 25. The low was 8.2. downeastnc
4th night in a row with lows in the teens that's pretty darn good for this part of the world, in fact I cant remember the last time it happened, then there has been only 6 hrs above freezing here since 8pm Tues night here. After this "warmup" Sat-Mon we could see another extended period below freezing so I suspect the creeks and ponds should start to freeze over by middle of next week. I think we're getting use to these extreme temps. Got down to near 7 degrees(11 or so at airport) this morning and nobody really talked about it. Would have been big news last year. Currently 12.6 on my back yard thermometer. I suspect they may steady or even rise a little as the wind pick up from the SW.
sctvman
Very cold period in the Charleston area. Last January, we had a nine day stretch of highs at least 70, with one 81 degree day. From Dec-Feb, there were only two days with highs in the 40s. This month, we've had three straight days with highs 45 or below, and ten days this month the low has gone below freezing. Today it struggled to get to the mid 30s in the daytime. Already 27 here, and we're one of the warmest spots in the area. 19 in Goose Creek, 17 at Carnes Crossroads. At 10:40 at night! If it keeps up, some of the coldest areas in the Lowcountry could approach 10.
Lookout
Surprised at how cold it is..already down to 12. Was 11 a few minutes ago. That's a good 8 degrees or so colder than the projected low. Wunderground shows a very wide range again in temps - anywhere from 11 to 23 in the upstate. GSP has been about the same over the past 2-3 hours, just dropped to 19 so it is one of the warmer spots. Edit: definitely not hitting the ground in NW NC. Looked at Blacksburg radar and it shows nor returns whereas RDU does. Virga.
