cool - it pretty much (the first line) roared through here.  didnt check my gauge cos of the storm before, but right not sitting at 1.95" and raining hard again

I should have looked outside more...there is tons of flooding right now here. Every bit as much as back in the summer when i got 7 inches in one day. Pasture has huge creeks every where and the lakes are going over their spill way.  It really takes exceptionally wet conditions and heavy rainfall to produce this much flooding here.

now up to 2.30. Probably will pick up another 0.25 to 0.40 with the back end rain.

But as much as it's flooding here, it has to really be flooding just to the west. Radar is understimating the rain here as usual (about 2x as much as actually fallen vs what the radar shows) so that means  it's probably rained at least 5 inches since 2 or 3am from just south of athens to the east side and on up to the west of here.

One of the things that annoy me is  If this much rain fell in atlanta, there would have been flash flood warnings for sure. But as usual the athens area and to the east is overlooked. It takes a noah type flood for ffc to issue a warning out this way. Indeed, there is a flash flood warning for parts of atlanta where far less rain has fallen than around the athens area..where of course there is no warning. Typical.

over 2" here now - when i took my dog out (or tried to, she was too smart to get out in the mess) the front yard was like a lake lol.  wonder if the extreme cold earlier this week froze the ground deep enough that its still (or was probably not now) frozen to cause all the ponding of water.   temps here have gone up, but was surprised to see its still about 50
