Awesome! Don't let him give you the wide right business. :)

Not quite go for main engine start up, countdown will likely begin Monday 0z runs, MHX already has 30 pops in the grids all SN Tuesday night and Wednesday. This could be good, even if it trends towards closer which I think it will, maybe a chance at seeing a big one, chase potential is currently at Snowmcon Alpo 2, heightened alert for 18" inside day 5, boss man has the heads up I could be taking PTO next week.

Awesome! It's going to be a fun few days....already started actually. I have a feeling that you may not have to go too far for a chase though.

Just curious.  Do you know Chris Collins?

I just wish I could trust those Euro ensembles.

You're playing russian roulette.

One gun is on the left, recently it was empty (0% chance of dying), but the last few times you've checked it, it's been fully loaded.

On the right there is a table of 50 guns. 40 of them you know are empty (that's 80%), the other 20 have half of the bullets the single gun on the left does (let's assume 3 bullets).

From which side would you rather trust picking up a gun from and playing russian roulette?

Spoiler: The left gun is the Op Euro, the right are the ensembles.

Counting this year we will be 7 out of 10 years under 2", we have never had that type of stretch, ever, in 130 years, even in the crappy 90's.  We should (I hope) get back to where we get 8 out of 10 years with over 2", where we get 3 to 4 10" seasonal snowfalls every 10 years, and then we will look back and recall how bad this stretch has been for us.  I think we are the only area (RDU) that hasn't had a 1" snowfall since the boxing day snowstorm, over 3 years, in fact I know we are.  That's why part of me will kind of sit back and laugh if we continue the snow drought this season.

Umm, you can add Hickory to that list of over three years since a one-inch snowfall.  I know it says 1 inch in my signature line, but that was a stretched inch.

Actually, we got 3 inches around January 10-11, 2011, but that was only two weeks after the Christmas Day storm.  It's now been over  three years for us, as well.  Plus, in Raleigh, you've at least seen snow fall from the sky from a couple of different clippers this winter.  That's yet to happen in Hickory this year.  So, as much as you might imagine it, the weather doesn't just hate the Raleigh area.  You don't own a monopoly on the lack of snow.

There's no point in really complaining about it, either.  It's not like you, Brick, Widre, or anyone else can actively do anything to change it.  So, let's all put on our big-boy pants, hope for the best, and take it like men when it doesn't go our way weather-wise.  I want snow just as much as the next guy, but whining about it just gets tiresome and no one wants to read it.

I'm amazed at the lack of snow we get here now.  I grew up in Cary and every year it seemed we got at least one good snowstorm.  I'm hoping things start to change soon.  Come to think of it, things started to change 11 years ago when I started on weather boards.  That might have something to do with it.

I'm sure if it was showing a possible blizzard for CHS you would be totally silent.

actually yes i would, because it is the 84 hr nam.... i know you want a phase and the precip to come west to charlotte but come on man, talking about the nam and dgex is a waste of time, they have nearly ZERO value.  i am not wishcasting, i can head back inland if/when it snows.  i am just being realistic.

Did you read any of my posts on the NAM? Saying it has zero value is a little dramatic don't you think? I really strongly doubt you would say nothing if it was pointing to a huge hit to your backyard. Trust me though I remember it during the Christmas miracle showing 3 inches of QPF for MBY only to end being .35 or so.

I also find it funny that the NAM is so worthless red taggers who are not even in this region are chiming in. Again will it happen exactly as it has it? Probably not but if you want to get into statistics CHS will probably get nothing but a cold rain. I don't hope that but you aren't exactly looking at so realistically either.

not trying to be overly combative in my posts, i love your posts and respect your input to the board.  i was just pointing out that in other circumstances the 84hr nam wouldnt be given the time of day, but because it is showing a chance at a more western solution we have 2 pages worth if disco on it in the main thread.

sorry if i came off as a dick,
