Hi guys. I'm a noob and just registered. I won't be asking questions, but I will be observing to see what everyone thinks. I'm still learning how to read the maps and learn all the lingo. I do like meteorology as a hobby and am trying to get better with understanding what I see. I might interject t from time to time, but more often than not I will just sit back, read and observe, and try to make sense of what is being said in comparison to the models. This is one of the ways that I can better understand the weather. Thanks. Diatribe complete.

The Four Horsemen - Widre, packbacker, franklin, and ncweather

Sadly for you they are usually right 9 out of 10 times. I'm just arguing on this idea that the Euro has shown huge snows and storms for NC only to fold to the GFS. It just hasn't happened. GFS on the other hand has shown torch after torch in the LR to MR. Has shown dry only to suddenly show rain around 60 hours out that the Euro had shown way before. Seems we have a selective memory though.

Welcome. Feel free to ask questions when they arise. I'm sure anyone here would be glad to answer.

At least the Euro has shown the potential. That potential might not have worked out because things change, but GFS has been all over the place a lot and can't even pick up on the potential. That is why it seems the Euro has caved to the GFS because the GFS has been so out of it that it can't even see the potential.

Randy told WOW he would need to optimize the server

Indeed  :D

So we're in line for winter storm Leon.

Great name for a southern storm.

Is that the next name? lol...still can't get used to names  ;)

Winter storm Kronos over Texas currently. How often does Houston see frozen precipitation?

More often than we do  :P

Welcome, tramadoc.  Some of these weenies on here might need immediate attention and triage should the Euro not come to fruition.  There would be lots of bloodshed and trauma.  A doc could come in handy.  By the way, that was hardly a diatribe, and we've had some classics on here.  Feel free to post often and ask lots of questions.  Good introduction.

welcome to the bored.

The board is hardly boring right now, Iso!  :P
