^Can't agree more Widre.

Is katodog some kind of psychic or does he just guess dates for winter storms and get them right?

I feel a little excited for the next couple weeks for the storm. Its good not to be the bullseye this far out but so close.. so we could be in for a suprise instead of a let down... heck I don't care if its half an inch or and inch id be happy compared to the last couple years.... there's no merit behind my thoughts as I am no met or haven't studied meterology butI have learned a lot from you guys to understand the physics and what it takes for these events to occur other than what you see and hear from local mets on t.v. mother nature is a beautiful thing.

Gotcha. I have a heat pump and it's old and goes out a lot. Usually a capacitor...or it throws a breaker.

Anyway, sorry man. I hope you're able to get it fixed soon.

Thanks Cold Rain...I'm supposed to meet our heating and air guy at 1:30.  Hopefully it won't be too expensive!

Strongly agree, Tim.

Things do look great for next week, but I am not going to lie. If I just get an inch while the beach gets a foot I am going to be pretty mad.

Hope this continues.

From Rah AFD:

THE AIR MASS BEHIND THIS FRONT WILL BE SIMILAR TO RECENT ARCTIC
INVASIONS WITH HIGHS ON TUESDAY IN THE UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S WITH
MORNING LOWS IN THE TEENS. BOTH THE 00Z DETERMINISTIC GFS AND EC
SUGGEST THAT THE UPPER AIR PATTERN WILL CHANGE A BIT LATE TUESDAY
AND WEDNESDAY AS THE JAMES BAY UPPER LOW IN CANADA SHIFTS NORTHEAST.
THIS ALLOWS THE NEXT SHORTWAVE CHARACTERIZED BY A STRENGTHENING H5
JET OF 100+KTS TO DIVE SOUTH TO THE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO AND
INTERACT WITH THE LINGERING ARCTIC BOUNDARY OFF THE SOUTHEAST/MID
ATLANTIC COAST. CURRENTLY NWP GUIDANCE KEEPS THE SUBSEQUENT
CYCLOGENESIS OFFSHORE AND CENTRAL NC DRY BUT THIS PATTERN MAY BEGIN
TRENDING WESTWARD AND PROVIDE THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY FOR A MORE
VIGOROUS CYCLONE NEAR OUR LATITUDE TO COMBINE MOISTURE WITH WITH THE
COLD AIR.

its not much of a - nao. Ao is very - as it has been. With a negative pna we need a much stronger nao than what is modeled.

Agreed, it's very close to something better, as modeled we would have storms tracking to our west, but would be good for NE. They have to be salivating, BOS will be shattering records this winter of its right.
