According to robert possible freezing drizzle Friday am before changing to all rain. Lots of rain sun-mon possible t storms

I saw the image, but there is just no moisture with the cold for anyone in NC, SC, GA on the 00z GFS even for freezing drizzle.  Then the cold retreats and we get a liquid storm.

Edit:

I was looking over the data a bit closer, and there is a bit of low level moisture possilby even down into KCAE with close temps.  If that exists up there where it's colder, then maybe a freezing drizzle/mist deal might happen for an hr or two.

Of course it is. I swear, I know the last two winters were horrible, but this winter is going down as being even worse so far. I don't recall the last two winters having so much rain, and there were at least some nice warm and dry days to enjoy outside. This winter has been either really cold or really rainy, with no snow in sight. We can't win either way.

hoping by the last week of Jan. all the signals go in our favor and we get a couple of good snowstorms out of the Gulf.  one or two good storms and we would all be ready for spring when it comes.  :snowing:

I gotta say - it stings a little to see snow falling in ATL while my temps here are actually rising.  The curse of the Lee Side lives on...

I had drizzle and 40's long after the save your children killler front came through.  It finally got to 30 and hour of two ago, and now the temps are rising, lol.  I expect that "snow" was ash from all the fires people have going after the hype machine told them the end of the world was nigh :)  It's gonna have to work some to convince me this is a real outbreak, and not just a wanna be.  So far it's pitiful.  T

I think I'll move my monitor in front of my window and pretend this is my view today.

Not to rub it in or anything but there is talk of parts of the tug hill plateau of new york getting 100 inches of snow the next few days. Could get 5 or 6 inch per hour rates or something insane like that. Oh and 5 inch liquid equivalent..just imagine that. I can't even wrap my head around it.

Saw this from NC Piedmont Weather on facebook. I put it in the pattern discussion thread but it got deleted for some reason.

To SNOW or not to SNOW that is the question...European shows a snow threat again...This is no surprise and I do not trust the European at all for SE weather prediction unless inside of 84 hours as it has just been horrible the last 2.5 years with the pattern and predictions in the SE...GFS shows a phase later around the 19th of January but still do not think either one has a good handle on the way the event pans out but this will either be a BIG rain snow ice producer in the Carolinas and VA so stay tuned for more updates.
