Cold Rain
That's crazy. It is concerning that the Nam held the SW energy back. I don't think that's a bias.

NC_WX10
Was the NAM considered a win for the triad? I know it was a huge improvement from 18z but still no where close to the 18z gfs.

I mean, it's the "best" NAM run we've seen for our area, but it still gives us nothing (accumulating snow gets far as Archdale or so). The trend is there, though, and it definitely took a step towards the GFS and SREF.

packfan98
The SREF plumes look great. However, there are about three that must miss the phase and keeps everything west of Raleigh dry. Hopefully there will be more of a consensus tomorrow.

Hopefully there will be more of a consensus tomorrow. We will have a very good idea on what to expect by the 12z runs tomorrow..although tonights runs are really important. The 0z run is like the do or die run. With the 12z run and beyond crystallizing and narrowing down exact amounts/types. And by12z, we will be within 30 to 36 hours of precip starting here. strongwxnc
Just done the two, GA and SC. Might pull the trigger on the one in NC this fall... Lookout
I'm on pins and needles waiting for the GFS. Just hope they don't suddenly take it away from us later tonight or tomorrow morning if the rest of the models fall in line. There would be a nuclear meltdown of weenies and pros alike I believe. Thrasher Fan
Just an observation but I find it pretty funny that the usual 15-20 people who post in the SE on a daily basis are hanging out here in the banter. That storm thread has people coming out of the woodwork like crazy.
CandymanColumbusGA
According to the Iowa State Bufkit Warehouse: http://www.meteor.iastate.edu/~ckarsten/bufkit/image_loader.phtml?site=kcsg I get 0.05" of freezing rain. Then 0.3" of sleet. Then pile 2.7" of snow on top... Fun.
