tramadoc
Actually DT on WxRisk said that the trend has been for the "precipitation field" to EXPAND north and west. The surface low is not moving north and west.
Amos83
Lol, just posted in the storm thread, reread it and thought to myself "what a sh&%#$ post" and promptly deleted it. Moderating myself ftw!
JoshM
Doesn't look like a centered low to me, more like a trough, but what do I know I'm going to go in the grocery store in a panic getting a cart full and tell everyone, "DIDNT YOU SEE THE 18Z GFS?!" superjames1992
I would think that you could add another couple of inches to the totals in the I-85 corridor in NC due to extremely cold temperatures through the entire vertical column. We're probably pushing at least 10" with 0.75" QPF and ratios. Maybe a foot. It's beautiful. I expect another N/W shift. This storm is obviously going to pound DC. (not really, but it's the way things have gone this season, LOL)

Since you're in Bessemer City it's a given that everyone in the store will know you are speaking of the Global Forecast System and not Gordon Food Service. cpg2
Watching this storm since last week has been one of the most bipolar experiences of my life. Yeah, you're not supposed to hug the models run by run, but it's hard not to when you have known since last weekend that this storm was ALWAYS going to dump snow in someone's back yard in the SE. The whole time it's been "oh so close" to mby. Needle is being threaded. Where will the snow fall? I can't wait to start seeing the call maps. Best of luck to all and yes BOOOOO to the ice. If that scenario plays out for the coast, my prayers are with you.

Bevo
Cause and effect, this would be similar to what happens if the two parcels phase, maybe not as crazy, but pretty close. Verbatim a lot of plinkers for areas east of 95, just looked at the nonogram, would be one hell of an IP event for Lumberton down 95 into SC, ZR closer to the coast. If anything, this run trended towards the 12z ens mean. Have to wait till the 18z mean comes out to see if it is an outlier, would venture to say not, just goes to show many that the situation is still pretty fluid with what gets involved and where. I agree with the cause and effect of phasing (should that occur) - and I've thought from the beginning that it would be crazy if there were no shift at all. I just found 18Z to be too drastic in the "effect" side of things given how consistent the coast has been ground zero.
jburns
Things are getting totally out of control in the storm thread. btownheel
NC's finest chocolate... p001.JPG Brick is gonna pee a little. I'm pretty sure that gets Raleigh into 20+ territory. And THAT is at 10:1 I think. Legit could be 20+ from Gboro to Greenville if that verified (I know it won't lol). Good grief.
