Brick Tamland
The crazy thing is even if you cut the totals in half the GFS was showing, that was only with 10:1 ratios, and it could be 15:1 or even 20:1 with how cold it is supposed to be when it is snowing, so that could still be near a foot in the Triangle. metalicwx366
I think you've got a much better chance at seeing a little white than getting to 80 next wknd. We (more like me) just need that front to sag 70 miles further south.Im thinking we turn over to snow at the very end of the event. Probably Thursday morning. Disco-lemonade
That should be a hint. I felt that alot of the posts were pretty on topic. But of course I don't make the decisions.
DopplerWx
ready to see tonights runs into tomorrow to see if 18z was an outlier or not, if it is legit i will have to make a trip up to chesterfield. have no interest in 33 and rain or frz rain. Jaguars
Im thinking we turn over to snow at the very end of the event. Probably Thursday morning. Hoping the cold air is a little deeper/stronger further south than what's being progged. Will make all the difference in the world. Of course 75 miles between us and very possible tour weather could be night and day different from eachother'in 72 hours.

JoshM
I think the 18z NAM would have had it too, the setup was there, but it just looked ca ca. I'm curious why the sudden shift, maybe they've ingested the new data?

MarkSC
Even with the 850 line way west on the GFS (hopefully proves to be an outlier), ground temps support mainly freezing rain for CHS. 2 inches of frozen stuff on the sounding. Also, temps get really cold after the event--15 degrees.
