Really getting excited over here in Fayetteville NC. Seen several maps and watched several videos that specifically mentioned Fayetteville and put it possibly over 6". This would be the first real snow I've seen in NC since I moved here (although we got like .75" last year in Southern Pines in Feb. I believe). I have a Biology class on Tuesday from 5:30PM to 10:00PM Probably pretty safe to say it, along with Wednesday classes, will be cancelled. Again. We've already had 2 instances of a 2 hour delay.

You are in a good spot for no Bio on Wednesday and Thursday, at-least classroom/lab type.  My guess right now would be the area between Florence and Goldsboro, think we are too far north at PGV, not by far though.  Guidance is struggling with what if any energy eject out of the SW.  I do believe some will, not whole hog, but some interaction.  Without a sig phase totals are kinda capped, maybe 6-10" imo, 12" ~Clinton who knows.  The absence of a complete phase is a good thing though, with it we would have a dominant slp developing off the SE coast or out of the GOM which would punch a warm nose inland.  This does not appear to be the case.  Not a 100 year event by any stretch, but maybe a once in 30 year type deal for the lowlands of NC/SC, into the southern half of GA.  Could be very costly, especially for areas that experience sig ZR.

Longtime lurker here. I've noticed my backyard and several places in central/eastern NC are showing a chance of snow and temps in the teens Tues night. This strikes me as extremely uncommon, I can't immediately recall the last time we had precip when it was that cold anywhere outside of the mountains.

These projections for the coast are insane. For you folks on the beaches, I'm pulling for you to get more sleet than freezing rain. 1'' of that stuff I wouldn't wish on anyone.
