You going to be up late? Give it a couple hours and go chase.

I see some organization on radar and 30-35 db radar returns south of Albany. Watch the radar to see if it fills in more and chase.

Been watching the radar for about 30 minutes. NWS Jacksonville says it won't make it here. NWS Tallahassee is the opposite.

not trying to be overly combative in my posts, i love your posts and respect your input to the board.  i was just pointing out that in other circumstances the 84hr nam wouldnt be given the time of day, but because it is showing a chance at a more western solution we have 2 pages worth if disco on it in the main thread.

sorry if i came off as a dick,

No worries. I think as was stated before it's about the overall flow. I think the people who follow and post know that the 84 hour NAM is about as schizophrenic as they come but when you're seeing other models hinting at certain outcomes why not? I think the point I was trying to make is that people are going to get excited about their backyard. You telling me your level of posting doesn't increase when a run like the Euro happens today? I know mine certainly do. Either way no worries it's just weather

I am feeling the same way. I really liked our shot at getting a good snow here yesterday, but today just doesn't feels as confident. If we don't get anything from this while the coast gets a big storm, I am going to be so ready for the weather to turn warm and sunny and just stay that way. Just tired of getting good potential and nothing to show for it. Losing is still losing, and I am sick of losing.

Debbie downer!

Earlier today which I haven't checked recently showed the cloud/precip shield holding together then shrinking some. But over central GA,LG it showed the potential for enhanced precip closer to the Atlantic.

Really watch the radars. Sorry to say majority of NWS offices along the I-10 corridor blew it today.

But its not thier fault. This is a surprise for deep south.

Best of luck to the southeast crew- I am hoping that you get a region wide massive snowstorm. You guys deserve it. I am rooting for you!

Thanks for the well wishes, debeaches.  From your signature it appears you've gotten a couple decent storms this winter.  We could all stand to have a few of those down this way.

And, packbacker, I'm sorry if I sounded a little "ranty" earlier.  You may be tired of not getting snow, and I suppose I'm just tired of hearing people complain about it, when they have no possible way to control it.  We just have to roll with the punches.  As Burger said above, it's just weather.

At least there will be a clear winner for Euro vs GFS, they are so different, there isn't any middle ground, if there is a storm Euro wins, a complete whiff and GFS wins.

But does the GFS win because it is so off it can't even see the potential for a storm? Might not be one, but that could be just in the fine details, and the Euro is just seeing the potential. Not sure which is better, the GFS tha doesn't see the potential because if handles the pattern so bad, or the Euro that sees the potential but it doesn't materialize.

I have no idea about what you just said.

I have no idea about what you just said.

Pretty simple. Does the GFS just know there won't be a storm, or is it so crappy it can't handle things and even see the potential that the Euro is showing? Even if the storm doesn't happen, maybe the Euro is picking upon the potential, and the GFS is ha doing things so bad it can't even see the potential.

i hate to say this as it has been said so much but this is where you want to be ~100hrs out for central sc/nc.  gfs seems to always suppress these systems at this stage.

You may be right, but I think that argument would have more merit if we were dealing with a good southern stream system, and looking for it to climb a bit north

My criteria for a chase to the Outer Banks is less snow than that.  There will be some awesome photos there for the taking with a 6"+ snowfall.

Yes there will be if it happens :)

I try not to complain about not ever getting snow....but just so you know......it sucks  :P     That's okay though, not getting any snow doesn't decrease my ability to enjoy spending time outside
