Thundersnow12
Done being conservative, bumping final and last call to 8.2" here. Also think we'll get upgrades to warnings at some point. 18z NAM with over .70" liquid here and the lake effect reaching as far west as eastern Kane county for at least a short period. Chinook
Would snow make it hard to play hockey at the Winter Classic, tomorrow, Red Wings vs. Maple Leafs? I wonder if snow messes up the ice.
McDude
Lot more steady snow than last night. Also Accumulating more quickly. Guessing more water content?
The Polar Bear
I think that warnings will more than likely get issued if you are in the areas along the lake side counties probably the counties that will be included will be Cook Lake Will Kane and Lake IN in the Local CWA. The Polar Bear
I think the NAM all the way along has drank the koolaid too much on accumulations at the KORD KCGX and KMDW locations for this event other locations such as KDPA. But I guess we should not say never but probably not probable. In terms of Ratios we are going to be looking at general snow to water ratios Ranging from 20:1 to 14:1 depending on the model run that has produced the entire broad spectrum of solutions for this system. In terms of Accumulations and me being closer to the lake snow influence at my location in Hoffman Estates I figure after all is said and done here that I will more than likely about 10" or so which would be the most snow in a multi-day event since the Feb 2011 Blizzard.
