Really starting to think we have a shot at pulling 5 or 6 inches out of this.  00z model qpf is roughly .35 to .45 for LAF and I think an event average around 15:1 is fair (maybe a bit lower near the beginning and higher toward the end as the DGZ depth improves).  Part of me is a little hesitant but kinda hard to deny the trends.  If the 00z Euro is dry I might throw my computer out the window..

Man, it's a tough call. I want to go bullish. Even the Ukie looks good. But how much less can the Euro give us?  :axe:

That's for sure. Right under the snowflake symbol for UGN.

Going to tag 6" I think.

Sweet.  There's some additional returns popping up southeast of Dubuque.  That should expand and head your way too, but don't think that will develop into as intense of bands as what we're seeing now as the RR quad of the mid-level jet is beginning to push off to the east.  Should still keep steady light snowfall going for awhile after the better bands move east.

That looks awesome.  Wondering if the watch might be expanded to include Porter...

Wouldn't be surprised.

Old school method, but 0z MET MOS has us down for two 2's with snow probs. One 2 being equal to 2-4".

And, happy New Year from the eastern time zone to everyone!

Lol. The surface is uneven with all the fatties on top! Well then probably 4.8" then at 11pm. ~Enjoy your snow tomorrow.

Probably get to 5.3" or so with this wave. Almost to the 2 foot mark for the season.
