cyclone77
Like the last few days I'm gonna keep riding my original call for 4-8" total for here and the QC. So far 1.6 at MLI from yesterday, and 1.3" here. If tomorrow's wave can manage to give us a few inches we have a shot to make the minimum at least. Chitown Storm
sucks having the deeper returns 10mi to the north for the last hour....
IWXwx
GRR thinking this will not be anything that will affect travel conditions. HAH! I'll let everyone know how many PI/Unknown Accidents I respond to in the next 24 hours.... The same thing happens down here too, Harry. We have 20 miles of I 69 in our county, and it always ends up being a cluster. The good thing about heavy snow is that everyone eventually slows down, while the trace - 2" events are a nightmare. Snow staying north of me for the time being. Have fun ORD crew!
A-L-E-K
sucks having the deeper returns 10mi to the north for the last hour.... we knew that southern edge would be a b**ch, hopefully you can make it up tomorrow.
A-L-E-K
Anyone north/east of I90 should avoid the lull amounts should be 3-5 from this band as expected. Still a little unclear what happens between this and the next wave.
Chicago Storm
Looks like we'll stay in the better snows around here and ORD, as the main band to the north is sinking south.
Hoosier
Bullish to the end. Good for you. I hope it works out I actually wasn't drugged up when I made that 10-15" call yesterday lol
Geos
The grid that covers the very north end of LSD has 12-20" for it. All up and down the shoreline it's between 9-20".

Chitown Storm
yeah the tail end of the deeper returns near Freeport are turning to the SSE. I'm hoping to catch the end of it. about 1.5" down here. A few flakes per minute falling.
Chicago WX
I actually wasn't drugged up when I made that 10-15" call yesterday lol lol, I know. Really though, hope it pans out with the big totals up north. You were first one I know of, to make a call like that.
michsnowfreak
Reports out of IL sound good. Picked up 1.4" of snow today as a pre-storm appetizer, over half of which was unexpected afternoon snowband...now its quiet and time to get the party started! 18z models look good. DTW qpf on the 18z runs: NAM: 0.67" RGEM: 0.55" GFS: 0.44" A realistic 14-1 ratio would yield 6.2" per GFS, 7.7" per RGEM, and 9.4" per NAM
Chicago Storm
ORD had 1.0" as of 6PM.
kevlon62
Call it an easy 2 1/4" so far. Going to pull sleds out and treat 'em to an overnight snow blanket before hitting up the trails in the a.m. I am thinking we head east rather than west and north but not too far north. cyclone77
Looks like we sit in the dry slot here until around day break. Pretty impressive low-level baroclinic zone over the MW. Temps in central MO are in the 40s, while just across the border in southern IA temps crash to the lower teens.
