richm20
If you ask me...THAT is the story not a few inches of snow. I also posted, seconds later, that I was kidding! Im not doing that now. Lots of wishcasting....
jm1220
2 hours ago I was kidding. Now, lets be real! To be real, it's coming down at least moderately and winds are making it a few hundred to a thousand feet visibility now outside my house. The 14 degree temperature with these conditions are unmatched since maybe January 2004. So sit back and enjoy the ride.

SnowGoose69
Too cold for the zoo keeper Wouldn't doubt it, some of the stories I was told by guys who used to measure snow at airports was amazing, they'd estimate in foot prints through the window because they didn't want to go outside. IntenseBlizzard2014
Heavy Snow/Wind. Whiteout Conditions. 5.9" of snowfall and rising quickly.

So they are not required to properly measure the snowfall, or are they just being completely lazy?

SnowGoose69
So they are not required to properly measure the snowfall, or are they just being completely lazy? This was during the late 80s and 90s too so you could imagine if this went on then it has to be worse now.

Not saying its not impressive but to think we are going to "get the big stuff soon" is just silly. We had great snow, with super cold temps, but its not going to all of a sudden become a blockbuster storm. What you see is almost what you will get. I dont like it but that's what it is! jm1220
if he doesn't close schools he is risking many lives Wind is really picking up here now, not sure how it is elsewhere and away from the shore but I'd say we're in blizzard conditions right now. Snow is blowing around like crazy, and the falling snow is I'd say high end moderate.
JSantanaNYC
Those airport measurement are a joke. I'm on the ne of nj and when I cleaned the deck..there were 4 inches. I went out to measure again and 2.5.. so almost 7 in total.
