weatherpruf
For those of us who grew up in the 80's, it would've been cool to have access to forums and weather info like there is now thanks to the internet and improved technology....although other than 83, there wasn't much to celebrate snow wise in that decade... Jan 82 and April 82, jan 87. that was it.Feb 83 wasn't topped until Jan 96. By the way, it is snowing steady but not super hard in Woodbridge, NJ. Wxnyc
That radar is teasing us over and over a tongue of better returns moves in to brooklyn and southern queens than fizzles we need something to move this thing 20 miles northwestward then we are good. Right now very fine fluffy snow and down to 21.

SnoSki14
Let things play out before downplaying the radar. The storm will be intensifying and it'll move further north.

weatherpruf
I will say that I dont like that all the heavier echoes are shooting east We've seen that before...they go east and not NE. Let's hope not.

Stormlover74
Jan 82 and April 82, jan 87. that was it.Feb 83 wasn't topped until Jan 96. By the way, it is snowing steady but not super hard in Woodbridge, NJ. We did manage to have snow days every winter in the 80s though. It had a lot more arctic outbreaks as well compared to the 90s which other than 2 or 3 winters mostly sucked.

simpsonsbuff
Over the past three hours, 0.17 liquid in KNYC... So, even at 10:1, 1.7 inches there... Gotta figure tho it's a little better than that.
tomcatct
I really didn't have Internet access in the 90s either; although, that decade sucked other than '93-94 and '95-96. Most of us had to be pretty much glued to TWC back then...although they were the only game in town, i liked their mets back then...especially cantore. Stormlover74
Looking December 2009 esque with the heavy snows in CNJ 20F, moderate snow I had a feeling that might occur. Still time for heavier stuff to push north though.

weatherpruf
Looking December 2009 esque with the heavy snows in CNJ 20F, moderate snow Let's hope not; that set the tone for the rest of that winter; Woodbridge didn't get any of the big events; never cleared a footIIRC. But what can ya do? it is still snowing steadily here though, just north of the Driscoll Bridge.
WintersGrasp
Funny though that this is the second time at least this winter this has happened....when the higher forecasts are originally for north of NYC....then switched to south lol

+SNfreak21
I had a feeling that might occur. Still time for heavier stuff to push north though. I have been literally right on the edge of the heavier echoes, a couple hours ago I checked the RAP and it was very accurate, showed heavy bands cutoff around Southern NYC

Gotta figure tho it's a little better than that. Just under 2 inches here, 3 miles east of KNYC. So about 11:1 at the moment, it would appear. If true we may top out at 4-5 while the coast hammers a lot more. Seen it before.
