jm1220
About 2" on the ground in Long Beach. Snowing at I'd say an inch per hour. Nice backfilling taking place over PA-we're in this for quite some time.
REDMK6GLI
10-12 on the monmouth county coast per the hrr that band trying to develop on LI looks like it may set up shop here. you can almost start seeing some slight pivoting as well
WintersGrasp
Is that HRRR based on 10:1 ratios? yes Since it is...that would make it instead of 6"....an average of 8" for most and 10-12" for crntral jersey through long island

Santa Claus
I would not be surprised to see an island of local maxima snow totals in south Jersey. They are really getting pasted, and the precip just looks thinner in north Jersey, though the radar is now filling in more over PA.

RU848789
Debating about heading to Haileys to watch the game. Not even sure if they are open. I've been there in most of the major snowstorms in the past 4 years since they opened - they'll be open...
jm1220
JM1220, you have great instincts, truly. Can we see 10-12 inches and 9 degrees during mid day? If I were to hedge a guess, I'd say we hang out around 10 degrees through the day and the winds diminish further on into the afternoon. The question is how much banding hangs back around us-if it just bodily moves east from here it could all be over by 4-5am. If we can get the inverted trough and more activity to hang around, and we have snow until 8am or so, we could push 10" I think. A foot though is a stretch to me-a couple of spots could where the bands are most persistent.

WeatherFox
Surface map has consolidated from 5 areas of low pressure to 3 areas of LP. The new coastal low is 1002 mb as of 00Z on the HPC analysis and is progged to move northeastward in the direction of that stationary front. WintersGrasp
I have great instincts as well, though weenies hate them, nothing more than 4" at KNYC. Trust me, I hate my forecast as much as you do. Though I'm known to be on the negative side sometimes, 4" is ridiculous. No guidance shows anything below 6-7" for NYC. And they are based on 10:1 ratios. Banding continues to setup just around NYC. How will they get only 4?lol

Look at the backfilling over eastern PA. NYC will easily get 4" and probably 6-8". The snow shield looks very reluctant to move east so far, look down towards DC and see how little it's moving. Many people around the area already have 2". I suppose NYC is not far behind. You're telling me that NYC sees only 2 additional inches over the next 12 hours? SnoSki14
Mt. Holly increased amounts to 6-10 from 4-8 and I would hedge toward the high end of that. Can anyone calculate the current snow ratios based on the QPF we've already received?
