SharonA
It took quite some time after pressing Confirm, and then returned this error (bold emphasis mine): https://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php?app=nexus&module=payments§ion=pay&id=3698&fail=Could+not+connect+to+Stripe+%28https%3A%2F%2Fapi.stripe.com%2Fv1%29.++Please+check+your+internet+connection+and+try+again.++If+this+problem+persists%2C+you+should+check+Stripe%27s+service+status+at+https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2Fstripestatus%2C+or+let+us+know+at+support%40stripe.com.%0A%0A%28Network+error+[errno+6]%3A+Couldn%27t+resolve+host+%27api.stripe.com%27%29 EDIT: Tried again, and this time the response after Confirm was nearly instant, so doesn't appear to be a timeout issue (and it gave me a nicely formatted message instead of making me look at the URL): Could not connect to Stripe (https://api.stripe.com/v1). Please check your internet connection and try again. If this problem persists, you should check Stripe's service status at https://twitter.com/stripestatus, or let us know at [email protected]. (Network error [errno 6]: Couldn't resolve host 'api.stripe.com')
SharonA
I tried again just now, and it processed successfully. (The reason for not doing automatic renewal isn't lack of loyalty, it's that as an IT contractor, my income is hit-or-miss. I can't commit to renewing at Ultimate again, next year might have to be a lower level if the work's not there. It's not a reflection of the value of this site.) Wow
Sharon, No need to explain. We understand... we're already putting our subscription funds to good use by overhauling our server configuration to avoid having future hangups and timeouts with our site during periods of very high traffic. Stay tuned for future messages regarding this.
Wow
We reached our goal in 49 days! Thank you all! We're currently working on bringing our infrastructure up to date to handle our big traffic spikes during our big storm events. Stay tuned for more news on this in the coming weeks.
