I was working in the coal mines on summer break I worked outside at a coal mine for three summers while I was in college. It was a great job. 8-4, $4.50 and hour when min wage was $3.35. My first job at 16 was as a busboy at a joint called Chesapeake Bay Seafood house....$3.10 per hour, with the fringe bene of all the hush puppies and fries I could eat.
