aldie 22
So four schools in Montgomery County let out early today because of power/heat/water pipe issues, and one school evacuated from a fire alarm because of low water pressure from a pipe issue. I do wonder if tomorrow morning will see more issues, given that tonight will add another 12 hours in the lower teens and single digits. Are your school days longer? Is your school year longer? Compared to Fairfax County, for example....

Ian
I don't get why people like cold.. super dry windy cold. Why? Makes no logical sense. You don't really acclimate to cold it just becomes less annoying or more annoying depending on how you feel about it overall. Plus you have to prepare for like 10 minutes to get ready to go outside into the cold windy cold. In summer if it's hot you wear a tshirt and short and hang out in AC. A whole lot easier. AdamHLG
It's not that cold. Sad day for American infrastructure. There's a report on the Internet that an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Baltimore had to emergency land in Arkansas because of a broken water pipe. That's a new one. I wonder how cold it was at 33,000 feet. Actually you guys probably know that answer lol. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

I've always preferred cold over heat, even when young. I'd be first on sled in morning and last off at night. My body just adjusts to it better, why? Not sure. I despise hot and humid. I did put a jacket on today when I did my 5 mile walk. Only second or third time this year I've worn any coat/jacket. I'm not nearly as bad as my brother, who I'm sure was in shorts today. Sister just moved to FL last month to 'escape this cold____' in her words. She has actually made me sick to the point of almost passing out in her house/car from the amount of heat she requires to stay 'warm'.

I used to stay out for hours on end when it was cold if there was snow on the ground. No snow? 'Eff that.
Bob Chill
You can always dress for cold. Especially in MA. Even if you don't dress, heat is uncomfortable. I love spring/fall temps. I hate taking a shower, getting the mail, and needing another shower
mdhokie
This is why I dont like cold and dry. At least if there is a lot of snow on the ground I can justify paying the extra $$$. Once that electric heat kicks on the meter starts spinning crazy.

Yes, you can withstand the heat but everyone else has to deal with your nasty pits and other odors leaking out for three months.
