One other thing is that Frederick Co. has a homeless student population that is well over 600. Not to mention the countless numbers of families that may not have heat in their homes due to whatever reasons. These kids only form of heat may be their school, that and a warm meal. The amount of selfishness I saw this morning and continue to see out of people on FB admonishing FCPS is astounding! If you do not like the decision keep your kid at home. I know of a neighbor who had to be at work and got another neighbor to take her kid to the bus stop so he could sit in a car. And countless others who just drove their kid instead and went into work a bit late. And in all honesty as I just came home from doing volunteer work at school, it is not that bad out with the sun. True college superbowl stuff. Standing outside last night with shorts and no shirt would feel good compared to the sting felt by auburn fans across the country. gymengineer Posted January 7, 2014 Share Posted January 7, 2014 So four schools in Montgomery County let out early today because of power/heat/water pipe issues, and one school evacuated from a fire alarm because of low water pressure from a pipe issue.
