WinterWxLuvr
We have to accommodate for the kids that never wear long pants or a jacket during the winter...which are legion as far as I can tell. Letting them freeze their butt off would go a long way toward molding them into people who dress properly.
BTRWx
According to Yahoo, the Polar Vortex was dislodged because of blocking in NE Canada. I think they meant to say Alaska? Would that even be a correct assumption that a blocking High over Alaska affected the Vortex's steering? http://news.yahoo.com/39-polar-vortex-39-creates-huge-temperature-difference-174437108.html

Bodhi Cove
If you haven't done it yet, go ahead. We need to get the count up. Okay, I just went out to snap a couple pictures.. My hands are now ice cube cold and will take 15-30 minutes for the blood to get back into them (Reynauds response.) I should have waited for a hot flash to begin prior to pulling that bone-headed move.

The big ridge in AK and western Canada helped dig a piece of the vortex southeastwards from its mean position.

Bodhi Cove
That's thinking positively! If the flashes didn't result in wanting to strip down naked, only to end up shivering, I'd be telling BGE to kiss my bare butt. You know what sucks about working outside on a day like today? Coming back into the office and eating a cold cut sandwich for lunch I'm making Quiche Lorraine and have leftover meat loaf with cheesy hashbrown cassarole; want some?
