I think that's an overreaction...doesn't make you wrong it's just my opinion...I simply think its not a big deal. Since when has it been a bad thing to be on the side of caution when it comes to children? Of course they could make it in safely....but one might not...worth it? Also, I think it's less to do with being concerned about kids' safety and more about fear of litigation should something happen that might happen on any other day. Re: the bold part - you could say the same for any day of the week. I don't think that today poses significantly more danger than any other cold or hot day. I hope the last sentence was a joke.
