I do.

It's a sad commentary on today's society.  That's why I care.

I think that's an overreaction...doesn't make you wrong it's just my opinion...I simply think its not a big deal. Since when has it been a bad thing to be on the side of caution when it comes to children?

Of course they could make it in safely....but one might not...worth it? I guess as long as its not your kid right?

I'm trying to figure out what is more silly....the decisions to close schools or the hilarious overreaction to it by some...who cares

Agreed. Seems like most school systems that closed were in Virginia. Most central MD schools opened. Whatever their decision is, I don't care.

That's fine.  I think I'm always right, of course. ;)

I don't see anything wrong with being cautious when it comes to kids, but there's a point when it starts to get ridiculous.  IMO, it's gotten there with closing schools on a day like today.  Also, I think it's less to do with being concerned about kids' safety and more about fear of litigation should something happen that might happen on any other day.

Re: the bold part - you could say the same for any day of the week.  I don't think that today poses significantly more danger than any other cold or hot day.

I hope the last sentence was a joke.

It was...I think I'm just not that concerned about the whole thing...but I've also never tried to force my opinion on others...it's not my style

I'm actually a pretty laid back guy, but certain things get me fired up.  And when I get fired up about something, I'm like a dog with a bone.  For some reason, this is a big bone.  But I'm going to take Sir Paul's words of wisdom...
