Speaking of McD's...they are running a special .49/.69 hamburger/cheeseburger deal today around here, limit 10 per customer.

I can remember when they were .29/.39 regular price.

Used to do .10 specials...we would go in and put down a dollar and say...whatever that gets me...we weren't that smart

You are forgetting the worst part.  We had to push our Matchbox cars around and make vroom vroom noises in order to play.  Dark ages

Reminds me of the playing card in the spokes on the bike thing we used to do.  Gotta get those sound effects right.

My dad used to give me money so I could buy firecrackers and bottle rockets from my friend's older brother

I used to take those firecrackers, empty the powder and make giant bottle rockets.  Hard to believe I didn't blow my head off in the process.

I never got to go to summer camp.  I was working in the coal mines on summer break

I worked outside at a coal mine for three summers while I was in college.  It was a great job.  8-4, $4.50 and hour when min wage was $3.35.  The only bad thing was it was hot because of the long pants, steel toes, and the hard hat.

My first job at 16 was as a busboy at a joint called Chesapeake Bay Seafood house....$3.10 per hour, with the fringe bene of all the hush puppies and fries I could eat.

I earned every cent of that $3.10....lots of slop to clear off tables at an all you can eat seafood place.
