I was puzzled by the morning temperatures being reported at Dulles, since my temps were significantly lower and my numbers usually correlate pretty well to Dulles. I wish I knew....seems like these small airports report high other than Frederick...what makes me nuts is that it is the official reporting station for leesburg so we are always high. Seriously though, I have spent enough nights practicing soccer across the street at Bolen park to confirm Bolen is the coldest spot on earth, perhaps the JYO cold drains into the bowl there. Under clear skies and ideal radiational cooling condition, have seen my car thermometer climb 5*-6*F from the bottom of Bolen a mile or so up to Sycolin road, exiting right at the airport terminal.
