Emerging signal for storminess Jan 6-8

No way is it anywhere near that high. We didn't tons of have massive 60 degree cutters that year and we didn't have a week+ of 50's which is what models are advertising for this weekend into next week in the middle of January.

.

Uh....run the dailies. What happened in December was lock step. We will have more January warmth this year but hopefully make up for it by avoiding the February torch.

I'm guessing 1995-96 was a C+ for you using your criteria?

This winter gets a c- or maybe a c so far. Snowfall has been decent and cold has been good but the warmth and cutter ruin it . Hopefully the 2nd half performs

I'm going B- here.  It would be a solid B/B+ were it not for the torches that have decimated/eliminated snowpack.   Over 32" of snow so far on the not-so-young season and I may be looking at brown grass in the next week or so.  A winter, but not a winner thus far.

Kevin sounds like emotions are getting the best of him.

They are. No doubt about it.

Can't just have a normal 40 degree mild up. instead they have to exceed any forecast or thought process and bring tropical warmth, temps and dews near 60 and just wipeout deep snowpack.

To top it off.. we've now lost the storm at the end of the week..and instead of low's 40's for a few days next week as was touted, it's now 50's for a week.

Emotionally, I am wasted

Yup, you can feel his meltdown starting as his snowpack is quickly melting down to brown ground.

Still solid snow cover here but the this torch means business and I suspect it'll be vaporized pretty quickly today.

I would say the same here in central NY.

I think we will be at C+ in a week and if things don't pick up after that we may have to repeat the course!

You may as well fire up the new lawn thread......

39.0/39.  Intrestingly, the winds have been from the WSW since 7:00a.m.  It's probably the remnants of the cooler air I had being blown out by the warmth of North Adams making it over the spine.

I am heading out to do some lawn work. Plow operator decided to plow down my snow stakes and almost hit our cars. Tore up a car hood sized area down to the sprinklers.

It's approaching 60 here. I wonder when people are going to realize without any NAO support this is going to be the winter pattern. Leon Lett is at home watching reruns while heat miser is banging his old lady in front of ginxy and fella.

This would be nice.  There's going to be a huge lake effect event in the next 48 hours with 1-3" QPF amounts possible.

Tuesday... Snow with widespread blowing snow before 9am, then snow likely between 9am and 10am, then snow with widespread blowing snow after 10am. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 2. Wind chill values as low as -30. Breezy, with a southwest wind 22 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches possible.

You could see that one coming from a mile away.
