It's all about location I guess. Last winter was as good as it ever gets

It is...hashed it out last night too, but the variability in what makes people think it's a great winter is so big it's hard to discuss on this forum, lol.

I'd agree with you that last year was much, much better to this point in time.

East/northeast side of ORH hills FTW this morning. Doubt it makes much difference in the end...tropical warmth and rain are coming.

I am close to 700ft here...temp just slid back to 33.9 here again.

Yep, CAD held tough for a long time...it'll be like a 6 hour torch and then the front goes through so you'll keep the snowpack. I think many will...esp north fo the pike where the CAD has held several hours longer.

This would be nice.  There's going to be a huge lake effect event in the next 48 hours with 1-3" QPF amounts possible.

The Tug Hill advisory list is pretty funny... High Wind Warning, Lake Effect Snow Warning, Wind Chill Advisory, Special Weather Statement for

Tonight... Snow with widespread blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around -5. Wind chill values as low as -25. Breezy, with a west wind 11 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 12 to 17 inches possible.

Tuesday... Snow with widespread blowing snow before 9am, then snow likely between 9am and 10am, then snow with widespread blowing snow after 10am. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 2. Wind chill values as low as -30. Breezy, with a southwest wind 22 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches possible.

Tuesday Night... Snow with widespread blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around -1. Wind chill values as low as -25. Breezy, with a southwest wind 17 to 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

I want to chase this badly to see 5" per hour rates!
