WestCoaster
Just an absolute blizzard here now in Mississauga. Current temp is 2F and wind chill -22F. Just brutal out there. Looks like that LES band may graze the GTA. Looks pretty serious. I'm currently sitting at 9F here downtown.

stormtrackertf
I just tried the throwing boiling water thing myself...that is pretty awesome looking. It was just as cool seeing the cloud it made floating away in the wind all the way down the block. hawkeye_wx
Our temp has been steady for several hours, and may have even risen a bit this evening. In the city it's only about -6F.

Ottumwawx
Its -7 now only slowly falling. I had -22 on 12/24 with perfect rad cooling, Winds calming now, wondering how low it will go. DP is about-
michsnowfreak
your pics can sometimes blur together but this rules. The whole scene at dusk with the colored sky and blowing snow reminded me of those pictures you see from the northern reaches of Alaska. I would have LOVED to have been at some scenic spot with pine trees or a park or something instead of a cheap looking-down-the-street shot, could have been a one in a million shot, but just WAY too cold. My car windows had frost inside despite blasting the heat on max the whole way home from work, and my hands were numb after taking gloves off for 1-2 mins to take pics. Spwild47
I estimate I experienced -70F wind chills today. -22F in Eagle River plus 90mph across the lake on the sled= -70F wind chills Strong west winds all the way south from Green Bay to home...saw some 6-8 foot drifts east side of farm fields along I43 I remember a few mornings in the late 70s that felt this cold...but have not been outside for this kind of cold since.. The one they were citing in 1994 when they said there would be -60 to -70 wind chills? You can actually plot that on the Plymouth State site. Go to the surface plotting and contouring. Ottawa Blizzard
Wow temperature has dropped like a stone since 6pm. Down to about 2F now. Winds ripping, easily 25-30 mph sustained. Getting into some lake effect action now. MASSIVE bands off Huron. Looks intense out there visibility way down. I'm still at -14 Celsius after having briefly dropped to -15. It's weird how, when it's cold, the temperature fluctuates more than when it's hot. Still hope to make it below -4f.

Ottawa Blizzard
I find it funny, "Polar Vortex" is trending worldwide on twitter, haha. lol Honestly, the world we live in today. Guaranteed a few months from now many won't even know what it means again. People have short attention spans these days. Things "trend" briefly and then disappear off the radar - literally and figuratively. You'd think we'd never been impacted by the polar vortex before. Ottawa Blizzard
-14 at DTW, still lagging a degree behind IMBY at -13. I doubt we even make it as cold as you are now. Ottawa Blizzard
Wow. Hamilton, Buffalo and Detroit are all way colder than Toronto, or even Barrie. This may be a rare occasion where the further south you go, the colder you will be in the absolutes.

WestCoaster
Winds have picked up, clouds have moved in with the precip, and dews have shot up, so naturally temps have stalled or gone up a bit. Once this band clears out, radiative cooling can work its magic. The coldest 850s haven't even made it into the region yet.
