Nelson
Going with a 4-7" call IMBY for tonight through Wed night and will hope for an ever so slight northward shift...
wisconsinwx
Going with a 4-7" call IMBY for tonight through Wed night and will hope for an ever so slight northward shift... 3-5" is the prudent call I think, especially with no lake enhancement wildcard factor. Similar amounts for the Milwaukee area as of now.
Thundersnow12
Izzi with an A+ disco 3-6" a good call for tomorrow night. Like my call still

Probably the better call but I still think we get to at least 4" overall...
AppsRunner
I can roll with this. Reduce that map by 33% and you get the GFS basically

Hoosier
3-4 inch hit on the gfs. le looks weaker as well. Looks like the low level flow backs quicker on this run. What happens out east will definitely play a role in that.
A-L-E-K
Mike caplan being bullish. 6-11" calling it substantial! The 18z GFS is one of the more stingy solutions and still shows 7-8" across the heart of the metro. Given the long drawn out nature, it probably won't feel like a 6"+ storm but those kinds of 48hr+ totals seem pretty reasonable at this point. Chitown Storm
interested to see Skilling's RPM update at 5:30. I believe it showed some double digit totals from the city on north. I'm worried the southern gradient will be tighter than forecast and instead of 5-8" I'll get some 2-3" crap. Izzy's disco also highlighted the gradient uncertainty. Kind of storm where the plows can keep up, main streets are pretty clear and the side streets are horrendous.

Hoosier
While system snow ratios should be good, the lake effect ratios should be even better. Given the fairly deep DGZ and omega located within it during the prime time and typical lake snow tendencies, something like 25:1 or 30:1 would be a good starting point. Hoosier
agree Also think it will be capable of producing rates of 1-2" per hour during the peak, so it will get interesting if it sits over any particular area for very long.
