nutmegfriar
Perhaps if the AMS started taking away certifications that would make the TV guys stop and think. It would probably be fair, in this instance, to read his tweets. This was his next tweet... Matt Noyes @MattNoyesNECN4h It's a little early and I'm a little more sane than to call 4 feet of snow. But even if you're 3.5ft off, still plowable.
dendrite
I think his map also covers the 2nd storm as it was thru 132 if i recallNo...that's just the first storm.
jaf
He tweeted a pay site map (which I now subscribe to) and yes that clown map shows over 40" lol. What ratios is it going on - 25:1?
CoastalWx
Hey it could happen with 30 to 1 ratios. Yeah that always happens. Man the fetish of these maps from OCMs is kind of ridiculous.

powderfreak
Cool...70" in N NH. That might verify. I'd be disappointed in BGM with only 42".
eyewall
What ratios is it going on - 25:1? Something like that. BTV is thinking 20-25:1 is plausible in my area and with the forecast temps I can't really disupute that. However I am not going with anywhere near 40" LOL. dendrite
What ratios is it going on - 25:1?Well it has 70" in N NH with about 2" liquid so do the math. It's probably using a max temp in the column algorithm. With 2m to H85 so cold it's probably programmed for some ridiculous 30:1 ratios which wouldn't happen even if this run dynamically came to fruition. I was speaking in general, but he should also know that it will be taken out of context, so if he doesn't believe it there's no point in tweeting it out as even a possibility. Trying to convey science in 140 characters is never a good idea.

Noone is saying that amount will happen..but it creates a buzz, excitement, and gets people tuned in. Baroclinic Zone
Can already see GFS caving by 60h. s/w coming out of Canada is digging further s & w into TX as compared to 06z.

earthlight
GFS changes through 66 hours are almost insane compared to the 00z run last night. Something was completely missed in that cycle. This run is going to be much more amplified.

CT Rain
Whatever happens it will probably be of long duration. The Arctic front draped overhead all day Thursday with weak overrunning should keep the flakes flying 24 hours prior to the main show. Could be quite fluffy too.
