A very large percentage of the sne populous actually resides in ne MA....where we still have a very real chance, along with n orh co, the Monadnocks, and the Berkshires.

For Massachusetts alone , I just ran some quick #'s

N of Bos there are ~2.25m people in Essex and Middlesex Counties.

S of BOS there is ~1.96m people in all those counties.

Essex Counties which includes BOS has ~723,000 people.

So that's just under 5m people that live within roughly the western edge of the I-495 beltway or roughly 75% of Massachusetts population.

To give a better sense of what is implied when people say "where no one lives" or "95% of the population lives", let's see if we can get a breakout of areas.  The breakouts don't describe each area perfectly, but use the one that best fits your city/town.  It would be neat if someone could take the results and map it.

Updated Results.

Exactly what I implied.

For real....how often have we seen spring events have an appendage of snowfall into my area from the ORH hills?

Often.

Yep...annual snowfall spikes up very quikly in E MA away from the water...esp near and N of the pike. The gradient is probably on the order of an inch per mile or so within the first 15 miles. You get like 43-44" on the water at Logan but by the time you are due west to Newton or Wellseley, its about 10" higher...about 12 miles by the way the crow flies.

Same goes for your area which is about 15 miles due west of Beverly on the north shore. They prob avg like 47-48" and you are just cracking into the low 60s...so again about an inch per mile in those first 15 miles. Then further west the gradient is more gradual. You have to wait until getting to the sharper elevation changes in N ORH county to see a more defined gradient again.
