CoastalWx
Verbatim it's very close to nailing Ray. If the euro had that..you wonder if the thermo profile is colder.
dryslot
Unless the weekend warms enough in Maine to rid the trees of ice, any large snowstorm will be a major mess, and if it becomes a paste bomb up here (looks doubtful, I think), "mess" = "disaster". That would be very problematic for some of the areas that don't shed the ice
dendrite
I thought the GFS was a tick colder.81hr was kinda meh at H85.

moneypitmike
Looks a little pasty up this way. I'd be more comfortable in Halifax orJacksonville, but could eek out something decent here on this depiction.
dendrite
81hr was kinda meh at H85.Although looking at soundings now it looks like H85 isn't quite at saturation yet...wetbulbs look fine in the interior.

Tornadomachine
Interesting looks for N ORH hills on the SKEW-T's for the 6z and 12z GFS at 90 and 96, then 84 and 90. Borderline snow, then maybe ice threat?

40/70 Benchmark
Would be great for some more trending to have some snow otg for the big cold following this system. GEFS confirm and EURO stands pat, I'll become alarmed.
CoastalWx
That's the other thing I heard....I don't know why the icing threat is getting played. Seems extremely marginal for that. Anyways the subtle SE shift of the arctic front over NY is what you want to continue to see. As it is now, the real Cold is behind the front. But, if it intensifies quick enough, some of that could get pulled into the circulation. These storms are a pain because I feel like when you have these situations, the cold never really gets in here once the front is stuck in NNE. It's not impossible though so will need to watch areas like nrn MA.
