I used the Lake Tahoe analogy for a reason...to show how silly these battles look sometimes.

At any rate, lets get back to the 12/29 threat. That is what this thread is for. If you are insistant on talking about things other than 12/29 in this thread, then please move to a applicable thread in this forum if you wish not to be suspended/warned/etc. We don't need to act like 5 year olds in here. We're all adults.

Lake Tahoe-ites all laugh at these petty snow wars...they probably think its the pot calling the kettle black. Anything under 200" (to go with our pesky east coast ice) is kiddie school stuff.

Talk about a rough winter out there...we have more snow than they do. Mammoth with only 45" so far this season at the 11000ft summit...Squaw and Alpine Meadows with no snow in over 3 weeks. Noose stuff for those guys. The only think I wouldn't like out there is the long dry stretches. The storms would be epic, but they'll go a month with only 5-10" and then get 150" in two weeks, lol.

Not good. Two holidays without power? Let's hope not.

No it is not...

* IMPACTS...HEAVY SNOW WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. AREAS WHICH STILL HAVE ICE ON TREES FROM THE RECENT ICE STORM MAY BE MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO ACCUMULATIONS CAUSING ADDITIONAL BROKEN LIMBS AND POWER OUTAGES.

Just hoping some of the ice in the trees melts off tomorrow. Trees here still hanging very heavy with ice.

I would think upper 30's--especially with a little sun--should free up a lot of ice.

I'm surprised that they've issued a watch so early.  I expect you'll be snow, and one will ulitmatley be necessary but it's at least a day and a half out.

OT--I'll be in Jackson instead of Bath.  I'll let you know next time I'm up though.

ecens mean maybe a hair N of the op...not much difference though.

Down this way, a hair makes a world of difference.  Glad I'll be up there.

1-2".

Edit:  and I'd like all who poked fun at my worrying to issue an apology.  :)

Do we apologize after you shovel or before?
