moneypitmike
Take lots of pics for us If I'm in Jackson, I'll send you some that show snow. I'll begrudgingly take rain here if at least the ski areas in the Berks and S VT can get a plastering which still certainly seems possible. Well, if you're greedy and take snow here, you'll assure those areas of snow. SVT will be good regardless of what we get.

dryslot
and your car battery is most likely dead along with frozen break lines. You can, however, entertain yourself by throwing pots of hot water in the air and watching them freeze/evaporate in mid-air. Most folks up in the county when we are there riding will go outside every few hours and run there vehicles so as to not have that problem, Taking a leak outside in that environment is quite interesting as well................ ORH_wxman
Weenie ridge....dynamic cooling ...cat paws or paste @1500' My guess is some of both...maybe a couple inches. I dunno though..I could see this thing not being that impressive really anywhere if the stronger UVVs don't come to fruition.
Damage In Tolland
That would be a worse case scenario, There are still folks without power up here You can see how it's plausible..you have that boundary locked up there and the cold oozing into NNE..it's a torch at least initially at 925..ice
weatherMA
Ice with this? I thought most of the warmth was at 925 and below?

CoastalWx
Ice with this? I thought most of the warmth was at 925 and below? Don't let the RPM fool you. It's trying to tuck in some cold from nrn ME. May or may not happen...but that's nothing to worry about yet.

powderfreak
People are still losing power up here when the wind blows...the ice is still on the trees in most areas, and even yesterday there was an uptick in power outages due to the new snow and some wind. wx2fish
That's how I see it too. That cold does make me wonder a bit..but yeah I agree. Yeah alot of the area where the RPM was showing ice the GFS has the whole column below freezing. Maybe closer to the coast in ME if they drain low level cold they could see some sleet with still marginal air around 850, but its a pretty narrow sliver on the gfs soundings. tamarack
It was a better run up here then 06z, Looks like hvy hvy paste And unless tomorrow can clean most of the ice out of the trees, that would be hvy hvy wreckage. I can tell you first hand what -33F feels like, You cant breathe thru your nose for starters Coldest I've recorded was -47 in Jan 1979. However, that morning I was staying on the border near St.-Pamphile, PQ, where it was "only" -40. Had to keep the snowshoes moving to stay warm that day. I've felt -42 twice (earlier in Jan 1979 and in Dec 1980) but the coldest apparent temp was in Jan 1982, -34 with wind 30 mph, -101 on the old WC scale, -72 on the new. Even with the heater hose engine warmer, the pickup abrely started, and one could not walk facing into the wind - one blink and the eyelids froze shut.
