mitchnick
Every snowless day that passes puts this feeling in my Mind that dca will never see accumulating snow Again -PDO regime is probably the killer
winter_warlock
Gotta love how people like to act like winter Is over on dec 27th. Too funny

snow.
Is all of this from Ji still part of the act? A few posts were enough. The mods decided to go hands off this winter in this forum, so you take the good with the bad...I prefer that approach...Ji is exempt anyway... anyway...ensembles better than op....dr no running now, but there is nothing to say no to.. Amped
Euro coming it. Looks like it caved in acknowledges the events existence. I don't have precip maps, but I'm guessing most of it stays to our southeast but probably some snow with the H5 passage.
snow.
Euro is a decent event...there is just so much interaction and handing off, it is so up in the air...best run in a couple days

snow.
basically an 18 hour snow event that dumps ~.40 - .50"...perfect track for the pattern...this is probably the best we can do,..I'd take it in an instant....

You and me both man. And we can of course speculate a dream scenario with flow a touch shaper in front of the ss vort allowing it all to blow up on us.... Net positive. It is an almost perfect solution given the pattern..weak southern low with a big fat high in ideal position...we probably won't know the answer to this one until middle next week given the stream interaction.. Yea, it's a fun one and a nail biter. Euro verbatim is a great cold snow with zero worries in the column 10+:1 ratios sticking to everything. It's been so long.....and it's gonna be a long 4 days before we can get some hopes up.....

Bob Chill
Best part of this run is Wes being in a good spot. I'd be stoked for a Wes jackpot.

Good grief its cold as the system departs. Single digits 95 corridor and sub zero awful close. Let's just lock this one up now please. 3" and tongues freezing to flagpoles is the new 09-10. Bob Chill
It is a little too perfect of a run...I've looked at the panels like 20 times...lol...... I look at this op run as hint that some of the members weren't smoking crack. It's not a pipe dream even if we end up eating a big bag of phail chips. There's been a lit of gfs members that look like this. Snow maps are even underdoing it verbatim for once. 4-5" at 10-1. Heh. At least Dr no is doing some reverse opthamology

needbiggerboat
Glad to see at least one Euro run offer some hope to you snow lovers. Other than heavy snow that doesn't stick, these "pure" events where temps remain solidly in the low to mid 20s are the best type IMO. Although even if 0z Euro comes to pass, still doubt I'll be able to use the new snow blower....prob can just get the broom out every couple hours. Huffwx
Just say West so Ji doesn't bomb the forum again today He's been sick, had to spend time with his kids and dealing with the Skins season. If the NFL draft was in winter, he'd be in big trouble.
WinterWxLuvr
Maybe it's a good thing that there's little support for that with the gfs suite. That euro run sure looked nice on the wunderground maps.
usedtobe
it is actually a weird protracted 3-5" snow storm It holds onto the confluence enough to keep the storm south. That's our hope. It's a good run and like you say the best in awhile.
usedtobe
The euro ensemble members like the event and based on it's goofy snow algorithm has an ens mean of around 5" from the event.

Heisy
Honestly looking at that map I just posted I'm surprised it doesn't fully blow up, would expect a NW trend if that map is right. Starting to get excited.
