gosaints
Solid 1.5 inches added on this morning in rushford mn. 5.5 total. Could get it to
michsnowfreak
Had 0.2" here with this first part. Sugary powder not fluff. The midday snow flying certainly added a festive touch at least. Whitened up the dirty snowbanks and piles and put a tint of white on the grass. Tonights round looks much more impressive so we shall see. Merry Christmas! Gilbertfly
Haha, you beat me by 0.1"! 12:1 ratio stuff. Edge of snow about up to Harvard, IL. Last night for me ended up being only a dusting....couldn't really even measure it lol .... 18Z RAP showing light QPF for a longer duration than last night's round...It won't be much....but it will continue the trend of nearly every day this season having a flake fly at some point... snowstormcanuck
Perfect Christmas evening. Fluffy flakes of snow falling, 2" of fresh fluff since this morning. Probably the nicest looking Christmas Day since 2002.
Geos
Nicest looking Christmas here since 2010. Probably near an inch for the whole clipper now.
wisconsinwx
Huge bust for here, we look to get only about an inch from both waves, snow is drying up whenever it approaches. Almost something worth putting in the complaint thread, but overall I have nothing to complain about so I won't.
cyclone77
Picked up just a trace with last night's clipper. So far today we've had a few tenths. Just had a real good burst of snow that was pretty legit. Would have added up to quite a bit if it would have lasted more than 5 mins.
Geos
Nice 25-30 dbz returns pushing through Winnebago County. Hope it makes it here.
cyclone77
Just had a few minute burst of high end moderate, possibly heavy snow. Picked up a few more tenths in very short order. Closing in on a half inch for the day, with one more band to come through.
Geos
SN with flakes about 1/2 inch across. Could get 2" afterall. Going to pass through the core of this eastbound band. Awesome looking outside! 1.2" in the last 20 hours.
hawkeye_wx
I got 0.2" from last night's dud. I wasn't expecting much from today's little disturbance, but it brought some nice convective bursts with moderate to very briefly low-end heavy snow rates. It was very nice to watch on Christmas. It added up to another inch for a 24 hour total of 1.2". We've had a lot of these little snows this season. They do add up. I'm up to about half of our normal season total... not bad considering it's only Christmas.
Boogieman
Merry Christmas, everybody! I hope it is going great for all of you. The wife and I shoveled the drive yesterday afternoon, there was around 4" on it since Sunday. When we left this afternoon to go to the relatives' place for dinner, there was around 1.5" again on the driveway. I figure we'll wait until tomorrow to shovel again. Geos
Looks like a full raging snowstorm out there right now! +SN A SWS would be legit call for Lake and McHenry County. Visibility has to be under 1/4 mile.
dmc76
Picked up 1.0" today. Weeks total so far of 2.4"
RCNYILWX
Just had a nice walk in the snow with my family and dogs in southeastern Naperville. Light snow with visibility 3/4-1 mile, collecting nicely, probably an additional few tenths after this morning's dusting. Looks like some of the heavier snow like what Geos has been seeing will be over this area in the next 20 minutes or so. Nothing better than this on Christmas Day. Merry Christmas to all. Haven't noticed anyone walking around here since about sunset. Those heavier returns in southern Kane County will be intense if they travel towards Naperville. Been snowing moderately to heavy for 35 minutes. Haven't seen it snow this hard since 2/7/

Haven't noticed anyone walking around here since about sunset. Those heavier returns in southern Kane County will be intense if they travel towards Naperville. Been snowing moderately to heavy for 35 minutes. Haven't seen it snow this hard since 2/7/13 It was awesome because there's no wind, temperatures aren't too cold and no one else out there. The dogs were able to run around without us being worried about cars and other dogs. No signs of weakening in the band yet, so it appears we'll get in on some moderate to +SN here. That's impressive your rates are almost as heavy as 2/7/13, glad we didn't completely miss out on the 2 clippers the past 2 days after last night was mostly a miss. Geos
3.0" total in the last 24 hours. 2.5" since 3:30pm. Still borderline +SN. Looks to be over by 8:30.
IWXwx
Congrats Geos, RC, and Thundersnow. A nice Christmas present. Just send me some of the scraps.
