Tropopause_Fold
The snowpack will save us. Climo says for the front to be in NYC. we can imagine a triple point near NNJ.
ORH_wxman
The overnight temps decimated what I had here. I know you may have had 2-3" more OTG than here, but what was the depth up on Winter Hill? It had to be at least 8" of cement on Friday. I'm not sure what it is today. Usually ChocksettChief has quite similar snow pack to Winter Hill and he was reporting 5" when the front went through...though he may have cooled better last night. It does cool on winter hill better than the airport but not by a lot.
40/70 Benchmark
Will, we both know that Winter Hill will be JUST far enough ene...stop sweating lol

Tropopause_Fold
well it's full on torch mode south of the boundary - complete with the S wind gusts to 30 - 35 knots. so mild, it's actually cooler here on the Cape with wind off the water

CT Rain
62 here. Feel bad for those in the mountain range 20 miles northeast of here crying on their green grass and remnant brown snow piles. I'm enjoying the torch!!! Simply sunsational for 12/22! :sun:
CoastalWx
You shouldn't get emotionally invested in weather. Take a word of advice from Tippy, he never allows that to happen.
Sugarloaf1989
The heat is on here with the temp at 63F and climbing. Nice to have the windows opened to let in some fresh air and give the heating a break.
HIPPYVALLEY
Torch not to be denied here. Up to 43F now from 34F at 5am. Still solid 6" snow pack but may get decimated today...

powderfreak
The funny thing is the Champlain Valley (perennial torch and snowpack loss candidate) will come out of this with probably more than they started with. 2-3" of sleet and ice mix has been added to the BTV area. Pic from BTV Facebook, looks like a white Christmas en rout there.

CoastalWx
This is a classic perfect torch. SW cutoff just digs down and grabs the warmth existing in the Gulf of Mexico where waters are still warm In December. Classic. December warmth much greater potential than January or February. It is impressive the temperatures along the east coast...the gradient is about as sharp as you can get and the soundings are as ridiculous as it gets. Pretty fascinating from a met standpoint when you remove the emotional piece on here, lol.

Way to hold onto the cooler air, Chris. 50.4/50 here. We had been up to 51.2 earlier this morning. Some weird NW wind thing has been happening here.....not sure what' that's all about. Down to about 5" here; not expecting anything by the end of the day.
