Yeah, I hate that logic.

My point was that I don't think the overall pattern (gradient) typically favors the Cape area.

Everyone always says that you can have great patterns and get nothing in return. Well, specifically for the Cape, I think it was the opposite..getting a coastal to form SE of the benchmark in a SWFE type of pattern.

Hopefully all areas will continue to cash in, specifically NNE.

You guys had the big coastal storm at the end of January 2008 amid a sh*tty pattern there too.  Sometimes it happens and is the reason why a place even like ACK can average similar amounts of snow as you do. Longitude FTW.

 You mean 12/11-12/12?

Ugh talk about ripping a scab off..lol. 6" of paste then drizzle/dryslot while 6 miles NW of me had over 15".

That event was still going on the 14th, I think. lol

That was 12/5/03.

I'd love to rip another off like that

You have no idea how crushed I was. It was so hyped up...blizzard warnings..the whole 9 yards, only to become an abomination of hurricane force drizzle. Logan didn't do too hot either, but just west did. I mean literally a finger tip away from my house got over a foot.

Yeah once I saw what ORH had, I lost it. I literally shed tears...I am man enough to admit it. I suffered for years with sh*tty winters and thought this was the one storm for me. What a kick in the nads. At least the rest of the winter made up for it.

I enjoyed 1992-1993 despite it not being a huge winter. I estimate maybe 65-70" where I was in Brockton. Solid winter and broke the back of the garbage years. The gradient literally was near my head though.

How the hell does one even remember this stuff?  I have a hard time remembering what happened last year let alone 22 years ago.  I only remember a handful of events prior to 2003. Feb 1983?, Jan 1994, Jan 1996, Apr 1997.

Because the storm pulled a Fredo....it broke my heart.

Me, too, although I do recall Dec of 1992 in Lowell... there was heavy heavy drinking involved...and bumper skiing...and chinese food I think...

Can't say I ever watched all the movies all the way thru.  Probably bits and pieces of them so I wouldn't know any names or references.

Chalk up the GGEM for us.  See if we can pull something out of our arse for next week.

Worth watching... (not Part III so much though)

About half fo the GEFS members have the storm to one degree or another on Jan 15-16.

It has me interested.  Unfortunately the OP run is one of the best depictions of the bunch.  And the inter and intra model differences signal lots of run to run changes ahead.  But the amplitude and position of the trof give this threat some potential.  I was a little bummed about a lengthy period of untrackable weather.  That has changed.

I know, I can barely remember last years big storms and Will can recall a storm from 1992 and all the details, he's like a walking encyclopedia.
