Neblizzard
It looks stormy too...esp the final few days of the run. They are "light years" apart from each other. Given the fact that the SSTs are still warm in the GOA, I'm betting the Euro Ensembles probably have the right idea with a big ridge out west. That pattern certainly favors NYC north. Ginx snewx
In all seriousness, have you ever read David Ludlum's " Early American Winters 1604-1820". Great read! check this one out, lots of hyperbole but some great stuff http://books.google.com/books?id=AqMbSZEpzeUC&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false

ORH_wxman
Well it is definitely going to be interesting...I do think we get at least a semi-arctic cold shot for MLK weekend....then we moderate a bit (Euro says not much, GEFS go Dante's Inferno on us)...EC ensembles then put us in a very wintry pattern of big +PNA with the pv lurking in SE Canada...and it retrogrades the trough as time goes on which would be a pretty snowy look for us in the Jan 20-25 time frame. GEFS say break out the hacky sacks, frisbees, and for Kevin to maybe put on swim trunks and go shirtless while cleaning his truck in the driveway. Model wars are fun. weathafella
Well if one of them is going to be wintry, we have the right one on our side at least.

Heisy
Like EURO, the GFS now shows more energy on the backside of the trough @ 120 hours, this shortwave digs a bit and creates a coastal. I love the signal.
