The cold came back though and went way into March of 1994 I think. I remember mid March the Hudson River was frozen solid in Saugerties (its a mile wide there).  Then I recall a great clipper around the first of Spring....8 inches I believe.

Yeah the duration isn't there (at least yet) like '93-'94...we've seen spurts similar to that season. But give me 2-3 week longer duration arctic cold stretch with several snows before really comparing the two years. I'll even deal with a very short-lived cutter intrusion. We did several times that winter too...but we did have a cutter-free 2 week stretch both from about 1/3/94-1/17/94 and then again from 1/29/94 to 2/14/94 before the mid-February furnace.

Ha!

I get it too, to some extent, but it's almost getting to the point at times where it seems like an analog that was thrown out in late summer and yes there are similarities, but now it will get ridden to the end no matter what.

And now folks are looking for every shred of evidence that it's the same or that it's not. We are stuck with this dialog through April most likely, lol.

yeah that's Jerry, not, what a diss. He knows when to adjust. Just coincidence I guess. I find your post denigrating actually.

endless cold and snow? details/analysis please

Just a huge PNA ridge out west with what looks to me like a pattern featuring redevelops off of Delmarva to near cstl SNE. Again, I'm sort of surmising how it could play out...ensemble means are not meant to time storms in the 11-15 day.

Sounds good to me, I'll take that.  If there's cold air available it will be dumped into the Eastern trough.
