OceanStWx
not sure how Pwm Is colder than here. Still 37f Sent from my LG-E980 I think we're just dealing with some stale air that is nocturnally cooling. And it's not atypical that you don't radiate well up on that hill. I think once we start building the pressure gradient north to south across the region, we'll all start cooling.

OceanStWx
Do you think Coastal York County will be added eventually? It will be close, but I think they'll probably remain just below criteria. Coastal Cumberland tends to stay really cold just north of Portland.
powderfreak
BTV down to 25/23 with a lot of precipitation upstream and accumulations already ranging from 0.3-0.6" in the local area. I bet they can make a run for over an inch. The thing with this one is it isn't some marginal 30-32F type ZR... this is just straight cold 20s freezing rain. No issue accumulating ice at those temperatures.

powderfreak
Rut roh... with 0.3-0.6" of clear ice already, this will get ugly for Vermont's most populated county. 18z NAM with 1.5" of ZR... And the 18z GFS is better...only 1.1" of ZR, lol. Gnarly....
Lava Rock
Temp going up. 39f. Gotta love the hill. Someone said the other day we'd be colder with some elevation. Thought that was odd. powderfreak
We are starting to drop now. The Champlain Valley continues to plummet, but most of the rest of VT is cooling off, too. Lots more low 30s showing up east of the Spine now, with low to mid 20s returning to the Champlain Valley. Even the higher elevations are starting to come down quickly... check out the Stowe base area site, which has dropped almost 20 degrees in the past 4 hours (from a high of 51F down to 33F now, and still falling)... toller65
It will be close, but I think they'll probably remain just below criteria. Coastal Cumberland tends to stay really cold just north of Portland. Looks to me like the cold is draining south along the Kennebec River Valley. Currently 36.2 on the bay in Yarmouth, down from a high of 38.3.
