Logan11
Why not keep driving and get into the snowstorm? Looks like a lot from the Laurentians across to northern ME. Places like Mt. Ste. Anne will be beautiful. You are willfully driving into a potential ice storm? interesting. Or were these pre-existing plans?

wx2fish
NAM even warmer. Curtains for most of NH. Seems to warm to me but well see. Im pretty confident I wont see any icing here, but I wouldnt be surprised if its 36 all day Sunday.
Typhoon Tip
Would be nice to have the models stop trending warmer with every run. I could see this pretty much being a 32F-34F rain here while coldfront gets encased. Then don't look at the 18z NAM ...
Logan11
Yeah who needs ice... I'd head for the snow. And wave #1 is gonna hit some of those areas with snow also..so it will be quite a dump. Northern Maine looks to see siggy SN/PL from this.

All Wet
I used to drive for a living all around Maine. I remember driving past places in Maine in 1998 that were out of power for up to a month, My office back then was in Standish, and over a week after it stopped raining Standish was looking like a war zone. The Ice Storm of 1998 was a nightmare, and I really, really hope (wishcast?) that we dodge this bullet, as unlikely as it seems right now.

Logan11
But it doesn't look any more amped with the low than 12Z. Similar position in Quebec later Sunday. Then don't look at the 18z NAM ...
Typhoon Tip
There is only one thing to do with a storm like this, drink heavily Storm? At this point everything has been pushed so far NW it's really just a warm transition into a cold reload. It may not be right and there's time to correct, but the models are just hell-bent at going against climo. Really - it's like they have physical agenda to get to the 1::10 solution. We just don't typically see 1032mb arctic air masses damming into ME merely hold up there. Interesting.

This NAM run just blithely pushes the warm boundary into upstate NY and NE. Not saying it is right.

SnowMan
I wouldn't worry about the Nam...its the Nam... Let's see how the other models go...
Typhoon Tip
Wheres my 60s? NAM maxes at 52/53 Until the snow pack is more heavily removed modulating the synoptic "warm look" downward a tick or few is probably the course of least regret. This isn't like that first SW deep layer breeze you get during the mud season. But, that warm sector on Sunday is getting deeper in the runs, so whomever does punch in will probably get some intense snow eating underway. Snow Bow
I thought you did not want ice?We don't want ice, 32-34 with rain sounds fine to me. I'm pretty sure coldfront wants it by the sound of his posts...

CoastalWx
Mixed feelings...lol. I gave my father the heads up on the ice because if they lose power up there, pipes burst and sump pump fails. Both not good. I'd go up if it weren't for a 1yr old.

Well it's not like you will lose your pack. Maybe I will be wrong, but I have a hard time with the WF making it that far north. But, I suppose you could rot at like 33F while near 1,000ft gets siggy ice. I know up in Sandwich near 1,000ft was devastating in '98.
