It's looking like 1/2 to 3/4 of the QPF will be rain before transitioning over to ZR unless the CAD overperforms in central Maine today (which is a possibility I suppose). If the power goes out, I may have to make the trip up tomorrow. We can't afford that happening or basement crawl space floods and pipes burst (if extended outage). CoastalWx
I don't see that cold going anywhere Jeff. Any pressure rises to the north will send that cold southwest tonight.

I think i'm in for a prolonged icing event Scott, Was kind of hoping what had been modeled would take place as i would lose some of the icing potential to plain RN, That may not be the case, Just north of the border above Fort Kent its 10F

You, jzinckgra and tamarack get to enjoy rustic 1820-esque living conditions for a while. Right at the north edge of the death-ice polygon - come on, sleet! Currently about 21 with no precip, had a tiny bit of ZR overnight.

CoastalWx
The only thing that may be a saving grace for some is that the most QPF may be up north where the cold is deeper and also before the temp really drops in areas further south. But Jeff's area might be in trouble.

On one hand I want to preserve the snowpack as much as possible and would rather see frz rn. Om the other, to avoid days without power it would be best to stay above 32f the whole time.
