CoastalWx
Yeah I'm skeptical of that low affecting us...but the downslope dandy on the 29th has been there for days. Yeah it sort develops all on its own and moves north. Certainly not a textbook setup.

jamesnichols1989
NAM is really trending towards developing the clipper redeveloping off the 40/70 benchmark towards the 26th, with precip blossoming over Cape Cod, MA, but is also a tad too aggressive and until the GFS starts showing this aggressive development off Cape COd, MA the NAM is just the NAM. ALso it will likely be all rain unless the precip comes down heavily.
weathafella
On 12/24-5/93, there were flakes in the air. Uncanny.
RUNNAWAYICEBERG
...might get a coating of wet flakes and pellets tonight, then insta freeze it in several hours. Dunno how widespread it will be though.
jamesnichols1989
Clipper on the 26th looks like light rain and snow showers, NAM is just too aggressive with redevelopment south of the 40/70 benchmark.

Euro strengthens it in the Gulf of ME and gives coastal and downeast ME some enhancement. It was more aggressive than the GFS.

Much more agressive, I will ride the euro after the GFS failure for the ice storm, It had the main shield of precip to far to the south

jamesnichols1989
I don't have the specialized EURO maps, all I can go off of is the PSU ewall site maps which doesn't have more than the 24 hour panels.
jamesnichols1989
18z GFS goes nuts with the coastal low just offshore of New England, but if it were to come west via that run, cold air arrives just in time for the coastal precip to be mainly snow as the arctic plunge occurs. This coastal storm explodes to 944mb in the Canadian Maritimes, so the ingredients are there for an explosive result, just when that happens is yet to be determined. snowman21
Moderate to heavy snow shower just moved in. Coming down pretty good, doubt it lasts long enough to result in an accumulation though. Looks wintry with the wind blowing it around. I'll take it over 65 and murky any day.
