Chicago WX
Slant sticking? Jackpotting. For real though, I think the pink shows up because the 1981-10 normal snowfall for here is ridiculously/erroneously low. Anti-slant sticking if you will. A lot of missing data too. Chicago WX
It's moving the goal posts around a bit, but I thought it was kind of interesting. Far and away, March 2013-February 2014 is the snowiest such period in recorded history for Indianapolis. 12 month total snowfall...March to February...for Indianapolis (1884 to present). 1) 66.8" in 2013-14 2) 54.5" in 1977-78 3) 52.1" in 1981-82 4) 48.2" in 2002-03 5) 44.0" in 1996-97 6) 43.2" in 1978-79 7) 42.8" in 1973-74 8) 40.2" in 1884-85 9) 39.8" in 1995-96 10) 39.4" in 1913-

bowtie`
I moved here in either 1983 or 1984. I think it was '84. Thanks for showing me that it has been the coldest and snowiest since I have lived here. It felt that way but is nice seeing it splashed up in the numbers. Hoosier
I mentioned to Tim a while ago that I don't know how many valid comparisons there are in terms of seasonal snowfall totals this far south in the US outside of mountainous areas and areas that benefit from LES. Some of the reporting sites around here will have over 80" (hell that Tipton site could go over 90") with others over 70" by the time it's all over. I know areas around Philly/DC had 70"+ totals in 2009-10 but other than that???
