RitualOfTheTrout
Looking like close to 3 inches, but hard to tell for sure with all the blowing snow now. Still coming down pretty good, but the radar looks like it wants to lighten up soon. Nice to have a snow event with temperatures droping rather than biting your nails watching a r/s line! Stay safe guys its brutal out there and the worst is still to come. Had to take the garbage out, but also planned a quick jebwalk. Yeah, it's pretty intense. Lol It took about 5 minutes of walking, to get used to the cold and wind.

blackngoldrules
Lol right??! Haha we might be doing that Sunday night tho! Yeah, the next one doesn't look too good for us now overall. The GFS caved and runs the low right at the PA/OH border. We just have to hope there's enough moisture still around once the low passes to give us some decent back end snows. KPITSnow
Any chance pit breaks the all time record low next week. There are some indications we may get close
RitualOfTheTrout
GFS is pretty agressive with post frontal moisture, in fact it it shows very litle warm sector precip. Seems to show close to .25 qpf as snow. Thats probably over done though. Then a WAA type snow to follow towards the end of the week before the thaw sets in. north pgh
Idk what drugs the weather channel is on but I highly highly doubt we get 3 inches let alone 3-5... I watched a little of TWC yesterday. We all know how they have gone downhill since NBC bought them. It is all about ratings and nothing else. The weenies are taking over the station. Everything is over-hype to get viewers and sell advertising. (That is the only reason for named snow events) They pick models and show worst case scenarios which in most cases won't happen. They have MSNBC news updates so you now get a dose of all Liberal news slants. Then you get comercials, commercials, commercials. I want Joe Denardo and Bob Kudzma back. It will never happen because the weenie's have taken over.

ChalkHillSnowNut
My buddy said the weather channel is just generic spit out forecasts directly from GFS he thinks..... He said if we can get that low to track just east of us we'd get some heavy snow....

He said if we can get that low to track just east of us we'd get some heavy snow.... Yeah, that would definitely be the case. Unfortunately, the trend for a good while now has had the low tracking right at us or just to the west. Might be getting too late in the game now to expect a major shift, although we wouldn't need much of shift actually.

RitualOfTheTrout
Nam looked like it was coming back east and now it is moving west again. GFS looks a bit SE, so that keeps hope alive for us I guess. Buckeye is probably liking this run, central OH is in the bullseye.
Rdd9108
I love Bernies videos he analyzes the storm and not just qpf maps. http://m.accuweather.com/en/weather-video/midwest-snowstorm-rain-to-sno/2430839568001?channel=top_story Long story short he thinks we could possibly see 3-6 inches with rapid freeze over from rain. Could be a horrible commute monday morning.
